Small but popular spot. Stuck a lucky inside seat. Pulled Beef (Rendang) toastie was delicious. Fantastic concept. Tea was tea. Small irk which overall didn't detract was the rendang was cool inside. Suggestion would be adda malay/indo tea like teh tarik to the non coffee drinkers menu. Would be such a good accompaniment with this toastie

Discovered a real gem here. We shared the beef rendang toastie and it was outstanding, think of it as an Indonesian riff on a Reuben. The slow-cooked rendang with sauerkraut, sweet mustard and pickle on sourdough creates a unique flavour profile that really works. Came with crispy fried shallots on the side which added a lovely touch. Service was prompt and attentive despite the café being busy, impressive given how quickly they got our food out. The venue has a great vibe. Only minor note: my coffee wasn’t stirred thoroughly so the sugar had settled at the bottom. Small thing, but worth mentioning. Would definitely return to try more of their creative menu. That mie goreng toastie is calling my name!

Great sandwiches! The beef rendang sandwich could have more filling and I’d prefer the fried shallots IN the sandwich instead of outside. The fish sandwich was 3/5 as the bun:fish ratio had more bun than fish. Would definitely return to try more on the menu.

I got the pulled beef for $18 which was really good. It’s really tasty with some slight sweetness. the sandwich is pretty dense as well so it will fill you up nicely. It’s a nice small cozy spot with delicious sandwiches.

Rendang umami spice bomb pulled beef with crusty bread was perfectly made. And my magik coffee was nicely executed, pulled by our friendly barista, Michael. Warung Coffee represents Indonesian coffee beans and "budaya kopi" well, and an asset to locals of the growing Sth Yarra medium density builds.

The coffee here is excellent. The sandwiches are also tasty and unique but during the peak hours or the weekend, they may run out of some such as the fried fish fillet. In fact it took me three visits to be able to obtain the fish sandwich.. The wait is also quite considerably long during peak hours- much more than other sandwich shops. That being said, the fish sandwich was tasty and tangy with a generous helping of fish meat. I just don’t think it was worth coming back three times to try it or wait over half an hour for.

This hidden gem tucked away on a corner in South Yarra truly surprised me. I initially stopped by for a quick morning coffee but ended up staying for brunch after seeing how tempting the toasties looked. We were recommended the Indomie and pulled beef sandwiches—both were absolutely delicious. The toast was perfectly made, with flavorful and well-balanced fillings. I’d definitely recommend trying these two options. We also had a muffin, which was fairly standard. The coffee was spot-on and made for an excellent pairing. Seating is limited, with just a few spots outdoors, but it’s absolutely worth the stop—and the calories—first thing in the morning.

Genuinely so nice. The staff were friendly and fast. The coffee was perfect. The matcha was a bit powdery still but quite nice. The toasties were just to die for tho
